Benefits of fogging to help combat Covid-19.

The Delta strain of Covid-19 has thrown up new challenges that will be ongoing for the foreseeable future. We are all well aware of the airborne spread of the Delta strain, hence the widespread use of face masks and the fact that the symptoms of this strain can take several days to become obvious. So, the question we ask ourselves is how do we get protection when we don’t know if the person we have just passed or work with might be unwittingly Covid -19 positive.

Personal hygiene such as regularly washing and sanitising hands is vital but sanitising your immediate environment is also important. One method that has not been fully promoted is fogging the area with a TGA approved sanitising agent such as Nanocyn. It has been found that the virus can linger in the air before landing and contaminating surfaces. The length of time the virus can live on a surface is varied depending on its viscosity, the environment, whether exposed to direct sunlight etc.

Thankfully Covid -19 dies as it dries and doesn’t form a biofilm but if still in its active form, it can be transmitted by touch. It has been shown that we touch our faces up to 23 times per hour and if we have the virus on our hands, there is a chance that it could enter our body through our mouths, noses and even our eyes.

Fogging is the aeration of minute droplets of moisture. When a product such as Nanocyn is fogged it encapsulates the virus and kills it. When the Nanocyn droplets land on hard and soft surfaces they also encapsulate any particles of the virus and kill them.

As a preventative measure in enclosed areas (sunlight does a very good job of killing the virus in exposed external areas) frequent touch point cleaning of regularly touched items such as doorknobs, light switches, desk tops, chair arms, keyboards etc with Nanocyn.

Once the touch points are sanitised, fogging the entire area to encapsulate any airborne virus and reach areas that are not high touch points but could be harbouring the virus, gives you the best protection. If time does not permit a full touch point clean, regular fogging is a very effective method that can be carried out quickly and safely.
